The most rewarding experience for any leader or mentor is witnessing the growth of those they’ve guided. Today, our Executive Director at Women Initiative for Sustainable Environment (WISE) experienced that joy firsthand.
Women leaders from the Women in Favourable Environment (WIFE), led by Hajiya Hauwa Magayaki, paid a heartfelt courtesy visit to WISE—bearing thoughtful gifts and overflowing with gratitude. Their visit was a touching reminder of the far-reaching impact of mentorship, empowerment, and shared vision.
The WIFE team expressed how the Green Micro Finance Loan provided by WISE has transformed their lives and livelihoods. Through this initiative, many women have been able to thrive in diverse enterprises such as fishery, poultry farming, snack production, and the buying, processing, and sales of seeds.
Hajiya Hauwa fondly recalled how encouragement from our Ace Green Ambassador, Mrs. Olanike Olugboji-Daramola, in 2023 inspired her to establish WIFE—a seed of an idea that has now blossomed into a thriving network of empowered women.
Since its founding, WIFE has spearheaded several impactful initiatives, including:
- 🌱 Trainings on climate-smart and sack farming
- 🌾 Distribution of seeds and seedlings
- 💗 Health awareness campaigns on breast and cervical cancer
- 🌍 Environmental actions engaging children and young women in tree planting
The visit left our Executive Director glowing with pride—much like a parent watching their children succeed. In her reflections, she celebrated the many other women leaders who have flourished through WISE’s support, reaffirming that WISE is truly a gift that keeps on giving.
