On a bright morning filled with purpose, the winds of change swept through Kachia Local Government Area as the Women Initiative for Sustainable Environment (WISE) planted not just trees, but hope.
With 105 tree seedlings in hand and determination in our hearts, we arrived at the Kachia LGA Secretariat on a mission: to ignite a green revolution, one sapling at a time. This wasn’t just about reforestation. It was about reimagining our relationship with the environment—and empowering communities to lead the charge.
Facilitated by the inspiring Madam Ruth Yakubu, President of HIGHCOST ELIPRO and a proud WISE Women Entrepreneur, this green drive reached 9 schools across Kachia, gifting each institution with 10 carefully nurtured seedlings. From nursery to secondary levels, classrooms became classrooms of change—where students, teachers, and leaders alike embraced the responsibility of stewardship.
At the Kachia LGA Secretariat, 15 trees were presented—3 of which were planted on-site, standing tall as a living symbol of commitment, resilience, and renewal. These trees are more than shade providers; they are silent witnesses to a promise we’ve made to future generations.
The journey touched schools like:
- St. Paul’s Anglican Nursery and Primary School, Gumel
- Government Secondary School Kachia, where the visionary Principal Mr. Timothy Bulus didn’t just accept trees—he offered vacant land capable of hosting 100+ trees, signaling a bold step toward institutional sustainability.
His pledge? A powerful reminder that when leaders believe in restoration, transformation follows.
This is more than tree planting.
This is legacy-building.
